The Great Office Treasure Hunt
An indoor adventure where teams solved riddles, hunted QR codes, and completed fun challenges turning the office into a playground of teamwork and energy.

Problem :
While brainstorming engagement activities, I realized most of our fun events were competitive sports or celebrations. What we lacked was something that could be done indoors, encourage teamwork, and bring an element of creativity and quick thinking into play. Employees often stuck to their own teams, so we needed an activity that would mix groups and get everyone actively collaborating.
Solution :
I designed an interactive Treasure Hunt within the office space. Each team was handed a clue sheet filled with riddles, and solving each riddle led them to a new location inside the office. At every stop, a hidden QR code was waiting. Scanning the code revealed a fun or tricky challenge ranging from puzzles to quick physical activities that the team had to complete before moving forward. The first team to solve all riddles, complete the tasks, and cross the finish line was declared the winner.
Challenge :
Planning this wasn’t as simple as it looked. Crafting riddles that were clever but not impossible took time. Hiding QR codes in just the right spots so they were discoverable but not obvious was another balancing act. Coordinating tasks for each stop, ensuring no technical glitches with QR scans, and keeping the game fair for all teams required detailed planning. Plus, we had to manage time limits so the event stayed exciting without dragging on.
Summary :
The treasure hunt turned into a lively mix of problem-solving, teamwork, and laughter. Every employee was on their toes, running through the office, cracking riddles, and cheering on their teammates. It broke monotony, got people from different departments working together, and gave the office an energy boost. The positive buzz after the event showed us just how effective indoor engagement can be.
